For people living in Mekong Delta, their lives are attached to rivers, water. Almost activities could be organized on river as living, working, market gathering… This tour gives you a fantastic way of seeing how the Vietnamese people get on with their busy life by cruising among the local boats coming from all areas of the delta, full of fruit.
DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY – VINH LONG – CAN THO (L,D)
You will be picked up at your hotel at 08:00 AM for a 3 hours drive passing through green paddy fields stretching towards the horizon.
Upon arrival in Cai Be, you will be on board for an exploration of lush vegetation of Mekong Delta and the lively floating market. Next is a rowing boat rides on the maze of shady canals to arrive at a local orchard to visit the daily activities the handicraft villages of local people.
Lunch will be served at a local house set among fruit orchards and bonsai trees where you will try delicious traditional dishes. Take a bicycle ride to explore the villages for a great sense of delta life or relaxing on the hammock. Continue cruise to Vinh Long to discover beautiful landscapes along the river.
Drive to Can Tho – the largest city in the region for overnight.
DAY 2: CAN THO – CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET – HO CHI MINH (B,L)
Early in the morning, take a boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market – the biggest floating market in Mekong Delta. Cai Rang is amazing spectacle with hundreds of boats of all sizes trading mainly fruits and vegetables. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the daily activities of the locals who live along the Mekong canals and you will roam through the village to visit a rice husking mill and a rice noodles making shop.
Return to the hotel for a breakfast and drive back to Ho Chi Minh city where the tour ends at your hotel
